The Japan Money Exchangers Association authenticates and certifies coins, currency and precious metals — supporting the sound development of the exchange industry and the smooth flow of economic activity.
With the growth of international travel and inbound tourism to Japan, demand for foreign-currency exchange is rising rapidly. Yet the coins that exchange counters refuse to accept, and the precious metals and bullion whose authenticity is hard to verify, have lacked a reliable framework for appraisal and certification.
Beyond banknotes, we place our emphasis on coins and precious metals — investigating and certifying appraisal accuracy and safety standards, and issuing authentication certificates for currency, instruments and documents. In coordination with customs and other agencies, we work to make the authenticity of metal a foundation of society.
Raising the industry's knowledge and technical standards, and providing consumers with proper information — this is the mission of our Association.
